Dr. Grant Meisner is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain specialist with over four decades of experience. A veteran of the OR, he has cared for patients across every major surgical service and brings deep expertise in perioperative and post-operative pain. In the Midlands, he helped launch foundational programs: one of the first pain clinics, the first Outpatient Surgery Department, and the region’s first Acute Post-Operative Pain Service. He was among the earliest ABA diplomates to hold subspecialty certification in Pain Medicine. He now helps deliver comprehensive, multimodal pain care at Palmetto Pain Management in Columbia. He is also an Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina in the Department of Surgery/Anesthesia.
Dr. Meisner holds a BS in Microbiology & Chemistry from the University of Michigan where he was Phi Beta Kappa and earned multiple academic honors. He earned his MD at the University of Michigan, where he ranked 2nd in his class of 238. He completed his Anesthesiology Residency at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
