We have been performing image guided sphenopalatine ganglion blocks for more than 10 years.  This treatment uses a small flexible nasal catheter to administer a small volume of medication including local anesthetic onto a nerve bundle behind the nose called the SPG.  This is a special type of image guided nerve block that does not require a needle to inject the medication.  Patients do not need a driver and there is essentially no recovery time to speak of.  The benefit may last months for many people although it does not work for everyone.
